For a while I’ve been debating the pros and cons of so much as touching the topic of politics on Aliciouslog. So far, I never used my blog as a platform to express my personal political opinion. Due to recent events, however, I feel obliged to use whatever little public presence I have to say stop.
Last weekend I attended my first-ever blogger event – Salt and the City 2015 organised by the fantastic ladies-only crew of Sonja (Ginger in the Basement), Caro (Ach du gute Güte), Claudia (Geschmeidige Köstlichkeiten), Sabina (Sinneswunder) und Minnie (Minnies Welt) along with other volunteers.
Given I did not know what to expect I was
slightly tremendously nervous as I boarded the train to Salzburg. However, even before I got off the train I had already met two lovely bloggers who were also going to attend SATC2015 – hi Corinna and Viktoria 🙂 Continue reading Alicioustravels: Salt and the City 2015
Finally, finally was I able to replant all my precious seedlings into the containers which will serve as their permanent homes all through summer (and hopefully well into autumn). Continue reading Aliciouslife: My Balcony Garden – Getting serious
Returning from the most relaxing spa-days at Die Wasnerin in Bad Aussee I didn’t go straight back to Vienna but decided to spend Saturday and Sunday at my parents’ place in rural Lower Austria.

This year, Mum had a very special birthday present for me: a spa-weekend at Die Wasnerin, a four-star superior wellness hotel in picturesque Salzkammergut. We chose the weekend of 1st May (a public holiday in Austria) for our little retreat and booked massages and treatments in advance. Continue reading Alicioustravels: Spa-weekend at Die Wasnerin
Last weekend a friend from Cameroon came to visit with her gorgeous little son and we decided to make a walk around springtime Schönbrunn gardens her first impression of Vienna. It was such a beautiful day and warm enough to not need a jacket. Continue reading Aliciouslife: A walk in the park
It’s late April now and finally our travel plans for 2015 are coming together:
- In late May we are spending four days in Istanbul.
- In September we are looking into 2 weeks in Portugal (Lisbon, then driving down the coast-ish)
- In December I will take my then-retired Mum to New York and Boston to celebrate.
My dear readers,
I wish you all a beautiful Easter Sunday and hope you can celebrate with your loved ones and that the Easter rabbit left some treats for you (and that you found them).
I found mine :
Enjoy the long weekend! Happy Easter!
After my recent, successful hunt for wild garlic I suddenly had this beautiful, luscious pile of leafy greens to work with – and work with it I did. The other Sunday I spent the whole afternoon in the kitchen, cooking up a storm and enjoying myself immensely at it. Continue reading Aliciouslyvegan: Wild garlic galore
