Alicioustravels: Rax – our favourite local mountain

One of many things that make living in Vienna so convenient is the fact that it takes you less than 2 hours to get to the mountains. And I mean mountains, not rolling hills. Real mountains to hike, climb and ski. Over the years, Rax has evolved as the favourite mountain of choice for a relaxing day trip. Alicioustravels: Walking the Annapurna Circuit

Walking the Annapurna Circuit was something people had recommended I do whilst travelling Nepal. I wasn’t so sure about this. 2-3 weeks of walking, by myself, crossing a 5,400m high pass didn’t sound all that appealing to me. Would I even be physically able (i.e. fit enough) to do it? I wasn’t at all sure about it. Continue reading Alicioustravels: Walking the Annapurna Circuit

Alicioustravels: An Ode to Achensee

Alicioustravels: Achensee

Mr A and myself had been contemplating a hiking trip in early summer for a while but only now did we decide to actually book it. While initially Alto Adige or Lake Garda in Italy together with the area around Bled in Slovenia were our favoured destinations, we eventually decided on a place much closer – and in Austria. Alicioustravels: Salt and the City 2015

Last weekend I attended my first-ever blogger event – Salt and the City 2015 organised by the fantastic ladies-only crew of Sonja (Ginger in the Basement), Caro (Ach du gute Güte), Claudia (Geschmeidige Köstlichkeiten), Sabina (Sinneswunder) und Minnie (Minnies Welt) along with other volunteers.

Given I did not know what to expect I was slightly tremendously nervous as I boarded the train to Salzburg. However, even before I got off the train I had already met two lovely bloggers who were also going to attend SATC2015 – hi Corinna and Viktoria 🙂 Continue reading Alicioustravels: Salt and the City 2015
