First things first: Surprisingly enough I had the best falafel sandwich EVER in Sydney. I know my falafel and I’ve had it from Austria (where Levantine food is especially tasty due to many immigrants from that region) to Egypt, from Syria to Turkey – to meet my master at Sabbaba on Hall Street in Bondi.
The pita bread filled to the brim with the most delicious ingredients was indeed so perfectly flavourful that I was too immersed in relishing every single bite to take a photo of it.
You’ll understand. Continue reading Vegan Sydney →
Arriving in Melbourne in the wee hours of a rainy Friday morning in August we made a beeline to our hotel where we were welcomed with beautifully arranged pastries (not vegan but still a very nice gesture – Mr A enjoyed them) and hot tea while we waited for our room to be ready. It’s been over a year since Mum and I travelled to New York City and Boston in December 2015. I cannot say how I haven’t yet made a post with my favourite impressions. Finally, here it is. Continue reading Alicioustravels: My favourite impressions of New York City →
99 times out of 100 my favourite way of exploring a place will be by foot. Not only because I enjoy walking but because I like to be among the locals, see where they shop, what they wear, what they eat, how they move. Continue reading Alicioustravels: The streets of Cartagena (Colombia) →
It’s been less than two weeks since I returned from Colombia. What had initially been a trip to attend my good friend’s wedding turned out to be a most memorable holiday – and Colombia made it very easy for me to not want to go home by the end of it. Continue reading Alicioustravels: My Colombian experience →
When prepping for New York did I not only buy tickets for the crown of the statue of liberty, researched sunset times for the best view from Top of the rocks and created a new trip on Happy Cow app. For the first time I also browsed the net for the odd place to shop fair and vegan. Continue reading Aliciouslyvegan: Vegan shopping in New York →
First things first: New York is foodie heaven and yes, this also includes vegans. There are so many different kinds of plant based food stuffs available – from all types of what is considered fast food or junk food to downright healthy food (well, the American idea of healthy food so not always what a European may expect) – you won’t know where to start and where you’re going to put Continue reading Aliciouslyvegan: Vegan New York →
New York City. There is barely any other city in the world so much has been said, written or sung about. Everyone you’ll meet will have their own stories about this city – whether they are actually their own or someone else’s does not matter. Continue reading Alicioustravels: New York City or Travelling with Mum →
While you are reading this, Mum and I are on our way across the Atlantic, if we haven’t already touched down at NYC’s JFK airport.
It’s the first holiday with Mum – except for that oh-so-relaxing spa weekend at Die Wasnerin last spring – since 2005 and we’ve both really looked forward to spending a whole 10 days together. Continue reading Alicioustravels: Off to New York →
The other week marked the one-year anniversary of my last visit to Chicago, a city I try to regularly visit since a close friend lives there (meaning I don’t have to spend on accommodation and can do a whole lot of shopping instead). Continue reading Aliciouslyvegan: Vegan Chicago →
