More than any other category of essentials, the type of clothing highly depends on where you’ll be travelling. When out hiking, your clothing needs will be drastically different than on a city trip or beach break.
Still, there are a few items I will always bring:
- 1 pair of dark blue jeans
- Nude + black bra
- Underwear for 7 days
- Socks
- Shirts for 7 days (short and long sleeved)
- 1-2 cardigans
- Spare pair of trousers
- Hooded sweater
- Scarf/ pashmina
- Sunhat/ beanie
- Bathers (1 bikini + 1 bathing suit)
- Sarong
- Pjs
- Yoga pants (for workouts/ yoga and lounging)
- Thongs (as in flip flops)
- Walking shoes
- Softshell jacket
You may want to consider bringing something “nice” like a dress shirt that goes with the dark jeans or a light dress (which you’ll need shoes for though) for that beautiful restaurant or if you’re planning on going to the opera/ theatre regularly. Or just because every now and then it feels really good to look pretty and put-together.
When we are planning on hiking I will also pack:
- Quick-dry shirts (usually, they pack really light and weigh barely anything)
- A pair of long thermals
- Beanie
- Gloves
- 2 pairs of hiking socks
- Quick-dry underwear (1 top, 2 bottoms)
- Primaloft jacket
- A small backpack as a daypack
Once I’m back from New York I’ll let you know how my packing went, what things I didn’t pack and what items I simply had to bring.
