A city trip to Istanbul has been among the top three of my city-trip list for years and I have been yearning to go, yet the opportunity never arose. Now it has.
We only booked our flights (with Turkish Airlines) and accommodation (Holiday Inn Istanbul City) today and are already counting down the days until 24 May (47!!!)
This means that I have a bit over a month to draw up an itinerary, make out the things I must not miss (such as visiting the Hagia Sofia, taking in life at the bazars and taking plenty of photos with my new camera) and align with Mr A.
This is going to be so much fun!!!
Have you been to Istanbul before? What are the places to experience? Anything you can especially recommend that I won’t find in any guidebook?

Awesome Alice!!! I’m so excited for you! I’ve always wanted to go to Istanbul as well but never actually did it. It’s still on my to-travel list. We’ve booked a short trip to Barcelona for the end of may today. And I’m so looking forward to it.
