Aliciouslife: My Balcony Garden – Getting serious

Finally, finally was I able to replant all my precious seedlings into the containers which will serve as their permanent homes all through summer (and hopefully well into autumn).Last Saturday I changed into my garden outfit (i.e. anything that can get dirty), put on sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses and dove right into the beautiful chaos that is my balcony.

This is how I started out - with lots and lots of containers and an equal lot of confusion

Braving the gust of wind that caked me in loose soil (it sticks to your skin especially well after you’ve put on sun screen, especially mineral sunblock) I found new homes for my tomato, eggplant, capsicum, cucumber, pumpkin and chili plants as well as a variety of herbs (basil, dill, coriander).

This peppermin plant took over the whole flower box!

This, mind you, did not happen by chance: Since last year’s garden turned out a bit wild (i.e. we ended up taking over the balcony), I had to promise Mr A to proceed in a more organised way.

Because there is little I love more than a good plan, other than a good plan that comes with a list (and didn’t want to risk the wrath of Mr A), I drew up a little something.

All in its place
All in its place
So organised!
So organised!

This is how my – our – balcony garden for 2015 looks like. I hope it’s going to thrive and grow and bear fruit:

Have you planted anything outside or are you waiting for the Icemen to pass?
